This fleece is a nice white and grown locally to me in Lascassas, TN from a shepherdess that the is passionate about restoring this amazing endangered sheep breed and washed and skirted by me. It has been washed and scoured very carefully with Unicorn Power Scour. I have skirted the fleeces but have not thouroughly picked them or processed them any further. You will need to pick and process in whatever manner you wish before spinning, felting, or dyeing the fiber. My favorite method is carders with this breed.
I try my best to skirt the fleece and take out all of the nasty bits, but I am not perfect and may have missed some. There will be some hay or vegetable matter in it.
Gulf Coast Native Sheep descended from sheep brought by the Spaniards to the New World in the 1500's.
